We took a quick detour into Colorado from Arizona to see Mesa Verde National Park, stopping at the Four Corners Monument along the way - the only place in the USA where four states meet.
Mesa Verde came highly recommended from friends in Jacksonville and did not disappoint. The ancient cliff dwellings and Mesa plateau were inhabited for around 600 years from 600AD. They have been wonderfully preserved and it was amazing to be able to see them so close up, we managed to get on two ranger led tours, one to the Cliff Palace and the other Balcony House.
